| Your love is better than life.
So I will die for your name.
In death, I'm alive,
Because you came,
Into a broken world,
Full of sin and shame.
You bled and died for the guilty,
Though you carried no blame.
Your love is better than life.
Your love is better than life.
I deserve no home,
Yet you're building me a kingdom.
I am broken and poor,
But soon I'll walk on streets of gold.
Yeah, life is good.
Lord, your love is better.
Better than the so-called,
Treasures of the world.
Your love is better than life.
So I will die for your name.
In death, I'm alive,
Because you came,
Into a broken world,
Full of sin and shame.
You bled and died for the guilty,
Though you carried no blame.
Your love is better than life.
Your love is better than life.
Sometimes the prodigal son,
I want to do things my way.
And sometimes I run,
Like Jonah ran.
But your power of love,
Opened a murder's eyes.
Saul became Paul,
because you have a plan.
Your love is better than life.
Your love is better than life.
Lord, I give you my life.

| "[3] Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, [4] and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade—kept in heaven for you, [5] who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. [6] In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. [7] These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. [8] Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, [9] for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls." -1 Peter 1:3-9
read it again. look at verses 6-7. these verse tug on my heartstring right now. it's a blessing to know why suffering and trials take place if God is such a loving and merciful God. an answer is right in verse 7. "These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed."
and it continues to say, in verses 13-16....
"13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: 'Be holy, because I am holy.' "
look at verse 13 again. I love that verse. It's a nice reminder for me.
I hope this is a nice reminder for you as well, and that God has opened your hearts and spoken to you through these scriptures.
God is great and his love endures forver. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Hallelujah. Soli Deo Gloria. | | |
| I am so thrilled right now. I actually got to go outside and play football today. Good ol' tackle football. I'm going to post a few pictures now. Most of which, I am either on the ground or on my way to the ground. In my defense, I was tackled alot, yes....but I also scored six touchdowns for me and my sister. It was me and my sister, mandi vs. nick (sister's boyfriend) and my brother, josh. the final score was us 8, them 4. I was surprised considering my sister knew nothing about football. She caught on quickly.

My brother showing his strength. All he had to do is tackle me....not pick me up!!!
Yup...I'm on the ground. And my brother's laughing.
I'm trying to get him down!! I am, I am!! Why is he not falling??? grrr...*drag*..ow. ow.
COME ON!!! This isn't working!!
huh....would could have imagined...me, on the ground...again.
I finally tackled someone! Granted, it wasn't Josh...but I tackled someone!
a little help over here Mandi.....make him put me down!!!!!
now of course, the rips were there beforehand...but check out the dirt and grass stains!! hahaha.
I think it's cheap that they didn't get any pictures of my amazing touchdowns or spectactular catches, but oh well. Those who were there, saw and believed. I CAN play football! I LOVE it!

| As many of you know my life has been pretty overwhelming in the past few weeks. Things are slowly starting to look up. I'm really excited about tour and I'm so grateful to have God on my side through it all. Things seemed to be on a downward spiral. Then I thought to myself. Maybe I needed to hit rock bottom. God is good no matter what the circumstance, that will never change. How magnificent are the promises we have in Him?
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." -Hebrews 13:8 Amen! :)
Yeah so two nights ago I was just in a bad way, sick, overwhelmed and just tired of all the stuff I had to do that I didn't do last week or the week before. As I was reading my Bible and listening patiently for what God was saying to me, Jesus finally reassured me that I was going to be just fine. I started to write.
Then last night I finished it. I had just got done watching The Passion of the Christ and talking with a few friends of mine about how strong the disciples were in their faith. God spoke to me that night again. And with these words the song was finished.
"Is the price of discipleship too high to pay/ for the Savior's steadfast love and salvation?/ Deliverance was in innocent blood that flowed for guilty nations./ Holy is the lamb, the Son of God, whose crimson covers all transgressions."
I don't even feel right taking credit for writing that. It's honestly like those are the words of the holy spirit that came to me last night. Everytime I read it I'm like.....I didn't come up with that. Is that weird???? lol.
